2008 NBA Summer League Action to be Televised on NBA TV and Comcast SportsNet
WASHINGTON DC – Washington Wizards President Ernie Grunfeld announced the team's final roster for the 2008 NBA Summer League presented by EA Sports today. The 12-man squad was set after a two-day mini-camp held over the last two days at Verizon Center (Vytas Danilius, Mike Peeples and Will Thomas were released earlier today).
The Wizards' summer league entry includes first round pick JaVale McGee, recently acquired free agent point guard Dee Brown and young veterans Andray Blatche, Dominic McGuire, Oleksiy Pecherov and Nick Young. The team will open play in Las Vegas tomorrow when they take on the Portland Trail Blazers at 8:00 p.m. ET. This marks the fifth consecutive year that the Wizards will participate in the 2008 NBA Summer League presented by EA SPORTS.
Four of the Wizard's five games will be televised. Their first two contests (Monday vs. Portland at 8:00 ET and Wednesday vs. Philadelphia at 8:00 ET) will air on both NBA TV and Comcast SportsNet, while their second two contests (Friday vs. Cleveland at 8:00 ET and Saturday vs. Houston at 8:00 ET) will air on NBA TV. Their final game (Sunday vs. Phoenix at 6:00 ET) will not be televised.
