To the entire 92 Q, Kiss FM (93.9) and the Radio One family, we here at DCMetrosports want to send our prayers and love to you and the family of DJ K-Swift.
Khia “K-Swift” Edgerton died this past weekend at his house in the pool. Swift’s autopsy report will be release as soon as possible.
Baltimore’s club music a tradition in charm-city like crabs. Baltimore’s brand of club music sets them apart from other cities. D.C. is known for go-go, Philly is known for techno and Chicago is known for house music. Baltimore has a long list of great DJ’s such as Frank Ski, Rob Lee, Reggie Reg, Boobie, and upcomers like Jay Claxton to name a few. But K-Swift belongs at the top.
K-Swift changed the game for Baltimore’s own brand of music. Swift was the first to mix club music and hip-hop together, successfully. Swift was a powerhouse in a male dominant DJ introductory and known across the country as “the Club Queen”. Swift set a standard of excellence for DJs by doing it the right way. Swift was and will continue to be a role-model for both men and women. As a native of Baltimore and from someone who never met Swift, will always have place in my heart.
As long as club music lives on, so will DJ K-Swift. “Absence from the body to be present with the Father.”
