NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk State sophomore Jennifer Chichester ( Silver Spring , Md. ) was named the MEAC Cross Country Athlete of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.

Chichester finished with a third place time of 22:56 at the Virginia Wesleyan Marlin Invitational and was one of four runners to finish the race in less than 23 minutes. Her time helped the Spartans to a third place finish out of 12 teams on the 6K course. 

Chichester and the Spartans travel to Cockeysville , Md. on Friday to run at the Towson Invitational. The meet begins at 4 p.m.
