BLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech free safety Cam Martin will undergo surgery Thursday to repair a hernia, according to head athletic trainer Mike Goforth.
Martin will be out approximately three weeks. The surgery, Martin's second hernia surgery, will be performed at Montgomery Regional Hospital by Dr. Randy Lester.
Martin, from Martinsville, Va., was battling for playing time as the No. 2 free safety behind D.J. Parker. Martin redshirted last season. Senior Cory Price will now be the top candidate for No. 2 duties behind Parker. |
