The New Orleans Saints announced they have acquired former Washington Redskins CB Leigh Torrence.
Torrence was in his second season with Washington. He played in all 9 games this season and in 17 games last season. Leigh was a contributor on special teams and played extensively as the nickel back, usually covering the slot receiver. Torrence was waived on Saturday to make room for D'angelo Hall. The Virginia Tech product had been cut from the Oakland Raiders just days earlier. Leigh Torrence was a standout at Stanford and signed as a free agent with Atlanta before being acquired by the Washington Redskins
To make room on the roster for Torrence, Saint CB Mike McKenzie was placed on injured reserve after suffering a fractured patella on Sunday.
