With a raucous crowd inside the Comcast Center, the Sherwood Warriors brought home the Maryland Boys AAAA Basketball Title 61-38.

Finishing off the most successful season in school history the Warriors won the title by defeating Magruder, their cross-town rival for the third time this season.  Sherwood finishes their spectacular year 23-4 while Magruder completed a 20-9 season.

The Warriors were led by none other than Deontay Twyman, a two-sport star and Montgomery County suburban legend.  Twyman scored a team high 26 points but that wasn't the whole story.  The Warriors made over half their field goal attempts
for the game and were clutch in their free throw shooting down the stretch.

Deontay Twyman is probably one of the most storied high school athletes in Montgomery County, Md history.  He failed at two attempts to win the state championship in football but capped of his brilliant career in basketball.  Look for a more in-depth article on Twyman's exploits from DCMetrosports.com next week.
